Helping Cancer Patients Walk Taller
Assistance in Healthcare, Inc. was established in 1983 by a group of volunteers in Zion, IL as a non-profit solely for the purpose of raising funds to support cancer patients and their families.
For over 30 years we have provided financial support to patients undergoing active cancer treatment. We provide assistance for non-medical expenses. Thanks to the generous support of our extraordinary donors and volunteers we are pleased to share that AIH has Chapters serving patients who are being treated in Zion, IL, Tulsa, OK, Philadelphia, PA, Goodyear, AZ, and Newnan, GA.
Assistance in Healthcare is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization. We do not receive state or federal funding; relying on the support of individual donors. Donations and gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Mission
Our mission is to help cancer patients in financial distress while they are in treatment by providing funds for non-medical expenses such as:
- Groceries
- Utilities
- Childcare
- Mortgage or Rent
- School Supplies
- Other Living Expenses
and other basic needs, which may be challenging to pay during a patient’s treatment.
What We Do
Assistance in Healthcare helps to keep patients focused on fighting cancer thus, alleviating financial worries and other stresses cancer can cause.
Who We Serve
Assistance in Healthcare helps cancer patients currently being treated at hospitals in Zion, IL; Tulsa, OK; Philadelphia, PA; Goodyear, AZ; and Newnan, GA. Requests are presented to the local Assistance in Healthcare Patient Assistance Committee for review on a monthly basis.
