When a loved one fights an illness like cancer, the stress is felt by the patient and the family. Assistance in Healthcare, Inc. is committed to helping patients and their families through such trying times by easing the financial burden so they can focus on fighting cancer.
Assistance in Healthcare was established in 1983, as a not-for-profit charity that offers financial grants to patients and their family members who have become financially distressed as a result of their noble fight against cancer. We offer financial assistance to people whose lives are put on hold as the result of this illness.
Every cent of every dollar donated to Assistance in Healthcare goes to patients and their families. Our grants provide assistance with non-medical expenses, which may get neglected during a patient’s treatment and recovery, including:
We do not assist with medical expenses, such as doctor or hospital bills, medications, or vitamins and supplements.
Assistance in Healthcare is comprised entirely of dedicated, caring and compassionate volunteers who are devoted to easing the financial burden by assisting those whose lives are drastically affected by serious illness and the sometimes long road to recovery.
The organization's board members are volunteers who donate their time for planning and hosting fundraising activities. The group plans one major fundraiser each year, The Sweetheart Ball, and other smaller events throughout the year. Other major sources of funds include memorials, grants and donations from patients' families and friends.
AIH Zion Board of Directors:
Assistance in Healthcare is a non-profit organization whose funds rely solely upon donations and fundraising events throughout the year. We donate 100 percent of these funds to help patients and their families who are battling cancer.
We sponsor several fundraising activities throughout the year:
The Sweetheart Ball has taken place every year since Assistance in Healthcare was founded in 1983. This year, we celebrate our 31st year helping cancer patients and their families with non-medical expenses. Our goal is to raise $500,000 at this year’s event – every penny of which goes directly to patients!
